ESTER GUNTÍN, director and choreographer from Barcelona. After studying BA Humanities, MA on Aesthetics and Comparative Studies (Art, Literature, Thought) at Pompeu Fabra University she started her BA on Choreography at Institut del Teatre while working in Contemporary Art field.
Her works move between dance and image, using movement, space design and dramaturgy as a medium of expression to go beyond the choreographic, inspired by all kind of humanistic references.
Her choreography QUISO NEGRO has been awarded with Premi de Dansa Institut del Teatre 2023. A full lenght work will be premiered in Festival Grec in July. She will also present her first stage opera direction in O(H)PERA program at Gran Teatre del Liceu 2024.
Her works have been presented in different spaces, festivals and contests such as: CCCB Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona, Tanzlabour ULM, Germany, Rotterdam International Duet Choreography Competition, RIDCC (Rotterdam, The Netherlands), FERIA ARCO (Madrid), Festival Sismògraf Olot, Estruch Choreographic Contest (Barcelona), ACT Festival (Bilbao) or Quinzena de Dança de Almada (Almada, Portugal).
She has collaborated with Marcos Morau (La Veronal), V.V.A.A. Collective, CLARAGUILAR, Silvia Delagneau, Marta Pazos, Joan Morey, Alícia Gorina, Entrance Teatro and AMAGA, among others.
