ESTER GUNTÍN, choreograpger and director from Barcelona. After studying BA Humanities, MA on Aesthetics and Comparative Studies (Art, Literature, Thought) at Pompeu Fabra University she started her BA on Choreography at Institut del Teatre while working in Contemporary Art field.  

Inspired by all kind of humanistic references, her artistic practice focuses on forgotten phenomena, which emerge on the edge of the dominant narratives. She uses movement, sound, space design and dramaturgy as a medium of expression to go beyond the choreographic. 

Her productions are defined by high visual impact and complex scenic compositions, based on the interaction of the scenic elements. 

Her piece QUISO NEGRO was awarded with Premi de Dansa Institut del Teatre 2023. A full lenght work was premiered in Festival Grec in July 2024. She has received a MAX Prize for this work, as a Best New Authorship 2025. She also presented her first stage opera direction in Ò(H)PERA program at Gran Teatre del Liceu in 2024. She developed her new work, TORNAVEU, in Rome through 2025 with the fellowship MAEC-AECID of Academia de España en Roma for 2024-2025 of the Spanish Ministry of Culture.  

She was awarded with Delfí Colomé Prize 2025, her new work, BRIDA, will be premiered next summer (2026). 

Her works have been presented in different spaces, festivals and contests such as: Festival Grec, Gran Teatre del LiceuCCCB Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona, Tanzlabour ULM, Germany, l’Auditori de BarcelonaRotterdam International Duet Choreography Competition, RIDCC (Rotterdam, The Netherlands), FERIA ARCO (Madrid), Festival Sismògraf Olot,  Estruch Choreographic Contest (Barcelona), ACT Festival (Bilbao) or Quinzena de Dança de Almada (Almada, Portugal), Auditori de Barcelona, Sala Beckett, Teatre Lliure and Cixaforum Barcelona.  

Since 2020 she has also collaborated as a movement director for theater or assistant choreographer with Marcos Morau (La Veronal), Silvia Delagneau, Marta Pazos, Joan Morey, Clara Aguilar, among others.
